50 years of LIGNA – 50 years of Siempelkamp as an exhibitor at LIGNA. Congratulations!

Smart and sustainable technologies and services are the trade fair highlights the Siempelkamp team will be launching at LIGNA. We provide our customers with maximum efficiency in the areas of raw material use and plant operation. The focus is on increasing productivity and improving the quality of wood-based panel plants and boards. Siempelkamp has been involved with digital solutions for many years. We have systematically expanded our know-how in the area of digital technologies and analytics. Visitors to our booth at LIGNA can gain a vivid impression of how our know-how can increase the performance and efficiency of a wood-based panel plant.

Together with BLG LOGISTICS, UTC Overseas, PTS Logistics and BBC Chartering, Siempelkamp realizes one of the largest single shipments in the history of the Neustädter Hafen in Bremen

A door-to-door logistics project is setting new standards: A state-of-the-art continuous wood press for the US wood-based panels manufacturer Roseburg Forest Products Co. was recently loaded in Bremen Neustädter Hafen – manufactured by Krefeld-based plant engineering company G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG.

Siempelkamp’s experienced logistics team took over the entire logistics management for the international transportation of the complex plant components. The seaworthy packaging of the sensitive components was ensured by PTS Logistics GmbH. The central operation took place in in the port of Bremen under the direction of BLG LOGISTICS. The subsequent overseas transportation was handled by BBC Chartering GmbH, which shipped the entire cargo across the Atlantic Ocean in one single charter with its breakbulk vessel. As project forwarder, UTC Overseas organized the sea freight as well as the handling and transport to the construction site in Dillard, USA.

With a total volume of over 10,000 freight tons of break-bulk cargo and 195 containers, this was one of the largest single shipments ever carried out in Neustädter Hafen.

Most important: the perfect interaction of all parties involved – from packaging to handling, shipping and transportation to the Roseburg construction site in Oregon.

The project is a prime example of the importance of long-lasting partnerships in international plant construction and its logistics. This project in particular clearly demonstrates how precise planning, reliable partners and coordinated processes lead to a smooth process, even with highly complex logistical requirements. The exceptional density of bulk cargo on just one single vessel made this shipment a special event.

Focus on the new ContiRoll® Generation 9iQ

We will be making a “smart” appearance at LIGNA with our know-how in the field of digital technologies. The highlight is the “IQ” digital platform, which we have significantly enhanced. The focus is on our new ContiRoll® Generation 9 iQ line generation. This new generation combines Siempelkamp’s traditional engineering skills with modern digitalization solutions and AI methods. By merging IT and mechanical engineering, we are setting new benchmarks in terms of throughput and resource efficiency. We are also focusing on the topic of “complete plant autonomy” at LIGNA: At our booth, the “control room of the future” will provide an impressive introduction to this topic.

Siempelkamp presents the Service Excellence Initiative

Our service is also “smart”: our group-wide service experts are represented together at the booth. They bundle their competencies in order to guarantee worldwide service from a single source with the international service locations. The new initiative “Siempelkamp Service Excellence” integrates the spare parts service as well as the remote service, modernizations and other services. This pays off for customers in speed, excellent quality and smooth processes. The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process is one of our „smart“ LIGNA topics in the service area.

Recycling Tower shows innovative solutions with Augmented Reality

Another focus of our LIGNA presence is on the research and development activities that Siempelkamp is pushing on the topic of “sustainability”. A highlight of the booth is the Recycling Tower: Here, we use Augmented Reality to bring our technologies and research activities relating to sustainable, customized recycling solutions to life. The focus is particularly on Siempelkamp’s innovative MDF recycling concept. This approach is completely new and represents a real innovation for our industry.
